you...where you are valued for who you are? Where your gifts are
treasured and your efforts appreciated? A place where people encourage
you to be more than you ever thought you could be? A church that
takes the time to listen to your questions and help you find answers?
A place where you can find out how much you matter to God?

Who
we are...
Rivercity Community Church
is a broad based, contemporary, evangelical ministry located in
Kansas City's Urban Core. We are a church where people are valued
for who they are and the gifts God gave them. Your ethnic background,
social status, or education are
not important to us. We are a place the affluent and homeless, black
and white, Asian or Hispanic, sit side by side. We are a community
that works together as a team, and try to live a meaningful Christian
life individually. We want to help people discover the answers to
some of life's toughest questions: who am I? Where did I come from?

We are located
in midtown Kansas City, at 40th and Wyoming. Wyoming is 3 blocks east
of State Line rd. |

What we believe:
We believe in God, the Father Almighty,
the Creator of heaven and earth,
and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord:
Who was conceived of the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried.
He descended into hell.
The third day He arose again from the dead.
He ascended into heaven
and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty,
whence He shall come to judge the living and the dead. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy universal Christian Church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and life everlasting.

Our
Values
1.
WE VALUE ALL PEOPLE.
We
desire to help people, regardless of race or gender, reach their
full potential as Christians, using their unique spiritual gifts
as God directs.
2.
WE VALUE BIBLICALLY FUNCTIONING COMMUNITY.
We
desire to see the church function in society as God intended,
people caring for people. We believe this happens best in the
context of small groups.
3.
WE VALUE THE CREATION WE LIVE IN.
We
desire to care for and steward the earth as God intended people
to do. God, the Father, Jesus the Son and the Holy Spirit are
revealed through all creation, though creation itself is not God.
4.
WE VALUE THE WORD OF GOD.
We
believe the Bible is the inspired word of God. It is true, accurate
and relevant to our lives. We desire to use it as our guiding
reference. We do not believe Christianity is just a 2000 year
old religious story that has nothing to do with your lives today.
Jesus has a lot to say about our life situations right now. We
insist on communicating the relevant message of the gospel with
excellence.
5.
WE VALUE EVANGELISM AS A WAY OF LIFE.
We
believe all Christians have an obligation to help pre-Christians
fully understand who Jesus is and help them cross the line of
faith. The great commision applies to every believer.
6.
WE VALUE CHURCH PLANTING.
We
believe church planting is the most effective way of spreading
the gospel in the post-Christian world. Many, if not most, of
our communities are without adequate numbers of effective evangelical
ministries.
7.
WE VALUE TEAM MINISTRY.
The
church is a body made up of individual parts, working together
as a team is the best way to accomplish our God given mission
(both as individuals and together as a church). No part of the
team is more important than another.
8.
WE VALUE TRUTH TELLING.
We
believe Matthew 18 and 5:23 should be guiding principals for all
our relationships. We are committed to telling the truth to each
other, always with the idea of building each other up, not tearing
each other down.
