Kairos (καιρός) is an ancient Greek word meaning the right or opportune moment (the supreme moment). In the New Testament, kairos means "the appointed time in the purpose of God" or the time when God acts.

As we prepare to move into our new church home at 3405 Atlantic Blvd. in the St. Nicholas neighborhood, we believe we are in a kairos moment for our church. And it’s going to take all of us.

What’s Next For River City Church

Due to a change in ownership at our current Belfort location, we will be transitioning out of this facility later this summer. While this was unexpected, we see God’s hand guiding us forward as we continue moving toward our future home on Atlantic Blvd.

This next step includes a temporary gathering space as we wait for construction to begin on our new building. Below are answers to some common questions as we walk through this together.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • We’re targeting late summer—most likely August, though it could extend into September.

  • We’re currently exploring three temporary locations and will share a final decision soon.

  • We expect to be in a temporary space for at least six months while construction progresses.

  • Some logistics may look different depending on the space, but our heart and focus remain the same. We’re prioritizing strong environments for both gatherings and kids ministry.

  • Demolition is complete, and we’re ready to begin construction. We’re currently waiting on final permits from the city to move forward.

  • Pray with us, stay engaged, and walk with us as we take this next step toward our future home.

All of Us Launch

Sunday, August 20th, 2023 was the launch of the All of Us generosity initiative, River City Church’s shared step of faith to create a permanent home on Atlantic Blvd—a space designed for Encounter, Formation, and Mission. What began as a vision has become a tangible expression of generosity, unity, and trust in what God is building among us. Together, we’re not just constructing a building, but preparing a place for lives to be changed, community to grow, and the Gospel to continue moving forward in Jacksonville for generations to come.

Pledge Cards

We are asking everyone who considers RCC their church home to make a 3-year pledge by submitting a pledge card.
